The present research explored the effect of the digital storytelling approach on developing vocabulary acquisition and usage skills for fifth-year primary governmental language school pupils. To achieve this aim, a quasi-experimental design was used. The participants of the research consisted of 80 fifth year primary governmental language school pupils from El – Shorouk Governmental Language School, Helwan, Egypt. A vocabulary acquisition and usage skills checklist and a pre-post vocabulary acquisition and usage test were prepared by the researchers. The pre-post test was administered to the participants of the research before and after the experiment. Results signified that the experimental group outperformed the control group in the post administration of the vocabulary acquisition and usage test, due to the use of the digital storytelling approach. They also showed that the digital storytelling approach had a great effect on improving the required vocabulary acquisition and usage skills for primary governmental language school pupils, as it had a large effect size of (0.94) on developing them.
