|b In the West, as in the Arab-Muslim world, the field of intercultural communication has not been limited to the treatment of the migration issue and has been concerned with the human and the diverse under their multiple facets. Already in the 12th century, the Arab philosopher Ibn Rochd (Averroes) addressed the issue of the relationship to the other/the Other by multiplying the angles of attack (gender, religion, civilization...) thus laying the cornerstone of the intercultural neo-paradigm. Currently, advances in the social and human sciences (anthropology of the distant, cyberanthropology, anthropology of mobility, Dialogical Self Theory...) have shown the merits of this paradigm with an interactionist vocation. These sciences have generated a kind of "terminological catharsis" that has focused, in particular, on the concepts of "culture and identity". It would therefore be interesting to question the positioning of school textbooks in relation to this epistemological, and particularly conceptual, shift. How do these educational planning texts approach the new paradigm and the conceptual apparatus that materializes it? What are the index marks that betray the approach taken? With this in mind, our research has three main objectives. First, to analyze, briefly, the paradigm in question by listing the different concepts revisited. Secondly, to identify the anchoring of this conceptual apparatus in textbooks. In fine, to formulate proposals for readjustment so that the contents of the paradigm in question can be reinvested, in the light of the progress made in the humanities and social sciences.
