|b By applying a skopos-theoretical approach (founded by Hans Vermeer), and identifying the micro- and macrostrategies developed by Anne Schjoldager used in translations ofpolitical speeches, the uspeech delivered to the nation by George Bush in Washington DC on Monday O. March 13th, 2003 along with their Arabic translation will be analyzed in terms of language, discourse, ideology and translation strategies namely deletion and addition which reflect the ideology of the translator. The analysis indicates the power of translation and the impact of the target receiver’s ideology.
