تهدف هذه الدراسة لمعرفة المشاكل التي يواجهها طلاب جامعة دنقلا في مقررات وامتحانات قطع الفهم أو المطالعة والأسباب التي أدت إلى ذلك وطرح الحلول الممكنة لذلك وتوصل الباحث أن معظم طلاب جامعة دنقلا كلية التربية يعانون من مشكلات في القراءة وأن الطلاب في احتياج لمعرفة المعنى والنطق الصحيح. الطلاب يعتمدوا على أنفسهم في القراءة لذا لابد من الدور الإيجابي النشط عند يتقدم الطالب ويشارك فيه لأنها هدف من مهارات التعلم فيجب زيادة زمن الطالب في هذا المقرر. فيجب كل الطلاب داخل قاعة الدراسة الفرصة ليشارك ليتغلب على الصعوبات في تراكيب الجمل ووظائف الكلمات والوظائف الميكانيكية للقراءة (علامات الترقيم، ومواقع الحروف الكبيرة). بنهاية هذه الورقة البحثية الفائدة التي تجنى من هذه الورقة. يوصي الباحث بأن تقام ورش عمل من قبل التعليم العالي عن تدريب الأساتذة بما يخص هذا المقرر ليدرس بطريقة مؤثرة ويوصي الباحث واضعي المناهج بوضع كثير من الاهتمام لهذه المهارة.
A major purpose of this study is to examine English language reading comprehension problems at Dongola university- faculty of Education. The researcher reached to some main results. The Major Findings of the Study are the majority of Dongola university students- faculty of education have reading difficulties. The students almost need to understand the meaning and the pronunciation of the words. Students depend on themselves, so they have active role in learning process when practicing the reading skills in the target language learning. Increase the amount of student's time in studying such courses. Gives every student in the lecture room the chance to participate in reading comprehension. Overcomes the problems of structure, function and mechanics of reading. .A after completing this research paper must be taken in consideration the obtained benefits of the study, the researcher recommends the following: Workshops about reading difficulties should be conducted by the ministry of higher education to train teachers to cope with teaching reading effectively. The syllabus designers should give more care and considerations to the reading skills.
