The main aim of the study was to investigate the self-efficacy level of Turkish learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) in reading comprehension based on their gender. In this study, the researchers defined the terms of reading, reading comprehension, self-efficacy, and gender and finally mentioned the findings of Turkish EFL learners' level of self-efficacy in reading comprehension based on their gender. This study was implemented with 86 sophomore, junior, and senior Turkish students, from English Language Teaching (ELT) department, enrolled at Istanbul Aydin University. The study followed a quantitative data which was collected through a questionnaire, “Self-efficacy scale”, developed by Kassem (2013) and adapted by the researchers. Data analysis has been done through SPSS software version 24. Initially, the reliability of the questionnaires was examined among 15 Turkish EFL students. The results revealed a significant difference between Turkish male and female students who participated in the study. The results of the study can be available tools for teachers and syllabus designers in EFL classroom.
