المستخلص: يعد البحث التوثيقي أداة بحث إلزامية لا غنى عنها في العملية الترجمية، يرتكز المترجم عليها ليسد كل الثغرات الإدراكية والمفهومية التي تواجهه في ترجمته، وتشكل عقبة بينه وبين بلوغ درجه الفهم والاستيعاب التي تعد من أهم مقومات الفعل الترجمي وشرطا من شروط نجاحه وجودته. إنه من أهم المجالات التي ذاع صيتها مؤخرا في مجال الترجمة لا سيما الترجمة المتخصصة والتقنية. وإننا من خلال هذه الدراسة سنحاول تناول أهم القضايا التي تحيط بهذه المرحلة الحاسمة من مسار الترجمة. فما هو البحث التوثيقي؟ ما هي منهجية البحث التوثيقي والمصطلي الناجح؟ وكيف يسهم هذا البحث في جودة الترجمة من رداءتها؟ وهل هو حكر على أنواع معينة من النصوص دون غيرها؟ إنها إشكاليات من صميم الدراسة تهدف الإجابة عنها للتعريف بهذه الأداة المنهجية الفعالة في مسار العملية الترجمية وجودتها.

Documentary research is a primordial and essential research tool in the translation process on which the translator relies to fill all the cognitive and conceptual gaps that he is confronted with in his translation, and constitutes an obstacle between him and the achievement of the degree of understanding and assimilation, which is considered as one of the most important elements of the act of translation and also constitutes one of the conditions for its success and quality. It is one of the most important fields, which has recently become famous in thefield of translation, especially the specialized and the technical translation. We will attempt through this study, to deal with the most important questions surrounding this crucial stage of the translation process. So what is then documentary research? What is the methodology for a successful documentary and terminological research? How does this research contribute in the improvement of quality in translation? Is it limited to certain types of texts and not to others? These are the issues of the study, and the answer will aim to introduce this effective methodological tool in the course of the translation process and its quality.
