المستخلص: The primary objective of this research work is to verify the importance of the saints and the Christian liturgy in the motivation of meteorological sayings in Palestinian proverbs. It is also intended to analyze the reasons behind this calendar sacralization in the paremiological heritage of a predominantly Muslim society. The methodology of the present work is based on the collection, study and translation into Spanish of those proverbs allusive to the Christian festivities of Santa Barbara, Christmas, Epiphany, Lod Day, Exaltation Day of the Holy Cross and Holy Saturday and the Transfiguration of Lord Saint Elias. It is concluded that Palestinian farmers and ranchers place high confidence in these proverbs that have become empirical knowledge capsules after observing the sky for many centuries' and have become reliable sources of information about the weather. On the other hand, the forecasts provided by the examples gathered respond to reality and fit very well with storms and predict their respective dates.

El objetivo primordial de este trabajo de investigación es comprobar la importancia del santoral y la liturgia cristiana en la motivación de los refranes meteorológicos en el refranero palestino. También se pretende analizar los motivos detrás de dicha sacralización del calendario en el acervo paremiológico de una sociedad mayoritariamente musulmana. La metodología del presente trabajo se basa en la recopilación, el estudio y la traducción al español de aquellas paremias alusivas a las festividades cristianas de Santa Bárbara, la Navidad, la Epifanía, el Día de Lod, el Día de la Exaltación de la Santa Cruz y el Sábado Santo y la Transfiguración del Señor San Elías. Se concluye que los campesinos y ganaderos palestinos depositaban gran confianza en estas paremias que se convirtieron, después de observar el cielo durante muchos siglos, en cápsulas de conocimientos empíricos y fuentes fidedignas de información sobre el temporal. Por otro lado, los pronósticos que proporcionan los ejemplos reunidos Responden a la realidad y cuadran muy bien con los temporales que auguran en sus respectivas fechas.
