المستخلص: هدف البحث إلى تفعيل الأداء الإداري لرؤساء الأقسام بكلية التربية بالزلفي بجامعة المجمعة في ضوء الإدارة بالتجوال، وذلك من خلال الوقوف على الأسس الفكرية التي يقوم عليها كلا من الإدارة بالتجوال والفعالية الإدارية في ضوء الفكر الإداري المعاصر، والكشف عن واقع ممارسة رؤساء الأقسام بكلية التربية للزلفي للإدارة بالتجوال، وانعكاس ذلك على الفعالية الإدارية لهم، من وجهة نظر أعضاء هيئة التدريس، ومن ثم الوصول لعدد من الإجراءات المقترحة لتفعيل الأداء الإداري لرؤساء الأقسام بكلية التربية بالزلفي في ضوء الإدارة بالتجوال، وفي سبيل ذلك استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي (أسلوب دراسة العلاقات)، وقام بتطبيق استبانة مكونة من محورين، الأول منها لقياس درجة ممارسة رؤساء الأقسام للإدارة بالتجوال، والثاني لقياس الفعالية الإدارية لهم، تم توزيعها إلكترونيا على جميع أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالكلية والبالغ عددهم (١٨٠) عضوا، وانتهى البحث إلى أن كلا من درجة ممارسة رؤساء الأقسام بكلية التربية بالزلفي للإدارة بالتجوال والفعالية الإدارية لهم جاءت متوسطة، كما أكدت نتائج البحث أن هناك علاقة ارتباط طردي دال عند مستوى (٠.۰١) بين الإدارة بالتجوال والفعالية الإدارية لرؤساء الأقسام، كما أشارت نتائج البحث إلى أن أكثر أبعاد الإدارة بالتجوال ممارسة من قبل رؤساء الأقسام هو اتخاذ القرار يليه الاتصال، وأن أكثر أبعاد الفعلية الإدارية تأثرا بممارسة الإدارة بالتجوال هو التأثير القيادي، وانتهى البحث بعدد من الإجراءات المقترحة لتفعيل الأداء الإداري لرؤساء الأقسام بكلية التربية بالزلفي بجامعة المجمعة في ضوء الإدارة بالتجوال.

The research aimed at activating the administrative performance of the academic department chiefs at Az Zulfi Faculty of Education -Majmaah University, in the light of management by walking around. Through recognizing the intellectual basis of both management by walking around, and the administrative efficiency in the light of the contemporary administrative thought. And by exploring the reality of department chiefs' practices for management by walking around, and was reflected on their administrative efficiency from staff members point of views, then reaching some suggested procedures to activate the administrative performance of the academic department chiefs at Az Zulfi’s faculty of education in the light of management by walking around. The research used the descriptive methodology (the relations studies technique) to achieve this aim. It also applied a questionnaire, which consisted of two main axis, the first one was to measure the degree of department chief’s practices in management by wandering about, and the second one was to measure the administrative efficiency of them. Then it sent electronically to all staff members at the faculty, who estimated for about 180 members. The research reached that the degree of department chiefs practices in management by walking around and the administrative efficiency of them, are at the moderated level. There is a magnificent proportional relation at level (0.1) between management by walking around and administrative efficiency for department chiefs. The most practicable dimension of management by walking around by department chiefs is decision taking, then communication. The most effective administrative efficiency dimension of management by walking around is the leadership affect, the research finally reached some suggested procedures to activate the administrative performance of department chiefs at Az Zulfi faculty of education, Majmaah University in the light of management by walking around.
