تناول الباحث في هذا البحث اليسير قضية هامة يشوبها بعض الغموض خاصة في استخدام المصطلحات النحوية، والمصطلحات الدلالية، لأن هذه التسمية لها الاستقرار حين شرع سيبويه في مؤلفه أو كتابه، وبالتالي فأن العلم اللغوي النحوي كان عند سيبويه في كتابه ضمن ضوابط وقواعد ارساها الخليل وتلميذه سيبويه، وهذه القواعد والأسس في ذلك الحين اكتنفها الغموض والإبهام، فحاول الباحث في هذا البحث طرح هذه القضية ومعالجة موضوع العلاقة ببن المصطلحين النحوي والدلالي، مع التركيز على عدم الفصل بين النوعين، غير أن المصطلح الدلالي في المصطلح اللغوي الحديث اصبح عائما وشاملا ويأخذ صفة الشمولية. إذ لا بد من حصر المصطلحات الدلالية التي تتلاءم مع المصطلحات النحوية بالإضافة إلى ذلك شمولية المصطلح النحوي فهي بحاجة إلى تقنين وتركيز وتوضيح أكثر حتى تتناسب مع الدرس اللغوي الحديث، ولا نعني هنا بالمصطلح النحوي كاسم أو مفهوم يستخدم في ظواهر إعرابية كأن نقول مثلا فاعل، أو مفعول به أو مبتدأ أو خبر، وإنما نعني بالمصطلح الذي يرتبط مباشرة بالقاعدة ويحدد وفق مفهومه أجزاء الكلام كأن نقول: أسلوب حسن، قبيح، ضعيف، مقبول، لائق، شاذ، بهذا الشكل من المسميات الاصطلاحية، أما المصطلحات النحوية ذات العلاقة المباشرة بظاهرة الإعراب فهذه ثابتة ولا خلاف فيها. وتطرق الباحث إلى قضية المعنى والنحو والإشارة إلى التوافق بين المصطلحين النحوي والدلالي بالإضافة إلى قضية النحو والموقف التوليدي التحويلي، لأن المصطلحات النحوية وتطورها مبنية على بعضها البعض، وعرج الباحث على قضية المقابلة في الاستخدام الاصطلاحي لمصطلحات النحو في الفترة التي عاشها سيبويه والفترات اللاحقة، وهناك قضية لغوية هامة في الدرس الحديث أشار إليها الباحث وهي العلاقة بين علم النحو ونحو النص، بالإضافة إلى قضية التعليق والعلاقة بين الأصالة والحداثة في النحو القديم والحديث.
