| 520 | |b Translation holds a significant position in Arab thought and culture. This is justified throughout the policies applied in this field during the first dynasties of Islam, the millennial theoretical thought concerning these issues and the role performed by translators in the transfer of knowledge from one culture to another. However, if we focus on the translation carried out in the 19th century, we will discover that it is difficult to think of translation as a fundamental transfer of knowledge. Furthermore, the Arab translator collaborated at the beginning of the reactivation of the Arabic language by increasing its register thanks to new themes and genres. Translation has, therefore, become a genuine profession practiced individually and collectively. |d La traduction tient une place considérable dans la pensée et la culture arabes. Cela se justifie à travers les politiques menées dans ce domaine pendant les premières dynasties de l’Islam, la pensée théorique millénaire sur ces questions et la fonction représentée par les traducteurs dans le transfert des connaissances d’une culture à une autre. Néanmoins, si nous mettons en valeur la traduction effectuée au XIXème siècle, nous découvrirons qu’il est difficile de concevoir la traduction comme un transfert fondamental du savoir. En outre, le traducteur arabe a collaboré au début de la réactivation de la langue arabe par l’accroissement de son registre grâce à des thèmes et des genres nouveaux. La traduction est devenue ainsi un métier authentique pratiqué individuellement et collectivement. | ||
