The aim of the research is to identify the Effectiveness of a Training Program Based on Goleman Emotional Intelligence Theory on Reducing some Symptoms of Alexithymia in adolescents of Preparatory Stage Students. The research sample consisted of (22) students in the first year of middle school at Ali Mubarak Preparatory School for Boys affiliated to the Dekernes Educational Administration in Dakahlia Governorate, who obtained the highest scores on the alexithymia scale, their ages ranged from (12-14) years, with an average age of 535 (12.42). With a standard deviation of (0.542), they were randomly distributed into two equal groups: an experimental group (11) students, and a control group (11) students. Toronto School of Alexithymia “Affectional Dullness” for Adolescents and Adults “TAS-20” Prepared by Taylor, Bagby, and Barkar (1994) and codified by Aladdin Kafafi, Fouad Muhammad Al-Dawash, and Mustafa Abdel-Mohsen AlHudaybi (2020), and the training program based on Goleman’s theory of intelligence Affective, and the researcher used the following statistical methods in analyzing the data: Mann and Whitney test (U) to indicate the differences between two independent groups, and the Wilcoxon test - Wilcoxon rank signal and the value of (Z) to indicate the differences between two related samples. Some symptoms of alexithymia, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post-test on the alexithymia scale in favor of the control group, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the scores of the experimental group students in the pre and post measurements on the alexithymia scale in favor of the pre-measurement. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the post and follow-up measurements on the alexithymia scale. |
