شهد التعليم الجامعي في المملكة العربية السعودية في السنوات الأخيرة تطوراً ملحوظاً تمثل في ازدياد أعداد الطلاب الملتحقين بالجامعات، وهذا يتطلب جودة ونوعية التعليم المقدم لهؤلاء الطلاب تلبية لاحتياجات المجتمع بمخرجات تتسم بالكفاءة التي تثرى المجتمع. وبناء على ذلك تهتم المملكة العربية السعودية بضمان الجودة والاعتماد في التعليم بصفة عامة والتعليم الجامعي بصفة خاصة، حيث وضعت مجموعة من المعايير لضمان الجودة والاعتماد في التعليم العالي 2007م من قبل الهيئة العامة للتقييم والاعتماد الأكاديمي بحيث تكون مقياساً لمؤسسات التعليم العالي تعمل في ضوئها لتقييم ذاتها. ونظراً لعمل الباحث بالكلية الجامعية بالقنفذة إحدى كليات جامعة أم القرى، رأي الباحث ضرورة التعرف على الواقع الفعلي للتعليم في الكلية الجامعية بالقنفذة، ووضع تصور مقترح. لمتطلبات اعتماد الكلية الجامعية في ضوء معايير الهيئة الوطنية للتقييم والاعتماد الأكاديمي.\
Higher education in Saudi Arabia has witnessed a remarkable development represented in the increasing number students who joined universities. Such increase requires a quality education in order fulfil the society needs in terms of quality outcomes. This is the reason Saudi Arabia, in 2007, has created criteria for quality assurance and academic accreditation so that institutions can self-evaluate, and develop. Given that the researcher is employed by Alqonfoda university college which is one of the colleges in of Om Alqorah university the researcher aimed to identify the real situation of education in Alqonfoda university college and to suggest a proposal for the requirements of accrediting its programs in the light of the national criteria for quality assurance and academic accreditation in Saudi Arabia. The study questions included: (1) What is the concept of accreditation and what are its importance, aims, types and stages of implementation, (2) what is the current situation of education in Alqonfoda University College in the light of the national criteria for quality assurance and academic accreditation, (3) what is proposed mechanism to fulfil the requirements of accrediting Alqonfoda university college. The study aimed to identify the requirements of accrediting AlQonfoda University College in the light of the National criteria for quality assurance and academic accreditation in Saudi Arabia The study, likewise, aimed to reach a proposed mechanism through which the university college can be developed. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach; and used a questionnaire that was administered to 45 faculty members affiliated to different departments including education, psychology, curricula and instruction, computer science, sociology, and mathematics to achieve the study aims. The study findings showed that the real situation of the university college needs to be reconsidered in the light of the national criteria for quality assurance and academic accreditation. Numerous criteria were clearly shown to have been unachieved. The findings showed that the university college need to exert a lot of efforts to make available financial and human resources and to develop the teaching courses and scientific research so that quality assurance can be maintained. Recommendation of the study included: (1) the creation of an administrative body to monitor the implementation of the proposal, (2) creating a system for rewarding excellence among faculty members and administrative staff, (3) preparing a reference handbook for self-evaluation, (4) Preparing a handbook for quality assurance policies and practices, (5) continuous education and professional development for all faculty members, (6) Revising course description and updating the contents, (7) preparing a student handbook which gives information about the study programs and different courses offered by the university college, and (8) preparing incentive for faculty members to carry out quality research that can be published in reviewed journals. \
