|b This study aimed at finding the degree of acquisition of 8th grade students for social studies concepts in their textbooks in AL- Karak Governate. The sample of this study consisted of (552) students (273 males , 279 females). To achieve the goals of the study the researcher designed a questionnaire concerning the social concepts involved in the 8th grade textbooks. The result of this study indicated that their acquisition of these concepts was less than the average, also the results showed that the average of geographic concepts was 62% and the historical concepts was 54% . The results also indicated that no significant effect for sex factor on the acquisition of these concepts. The average of the acquisition of the historical concepts was (54,1 %) for males, and (53,9%) for female, meanwhile the average of geographic concepts was 64% for males, and 60% for females.
