الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو التعرف على مدى معرفة طلاب المرحلة المتوسطة في مدينة الرياض لبعض المفردات اللغوية التي وردت في كتب التاريخ المقررة عليهم. وقد بلغت عينة الدراسة (500) طالب تم اختيارهم بالطريقة الطبقية العشوائية من خلال خمس مدارس تابعة لخمسة مراكز إشراف في مدينة الرياض. أداة الدراسة عبارة عن اختبار تحصيلي يتكون من عدد من النصوص التاريخية التي أخذت من كتب التاريخ المقررة على عينة الدراسة، وكل نص من هذه النصوص يحتوي على مفردة لغوية كانت هي الهدف الرئيس، وأمام كل نص من هذه النصوص ثلاثة اختيارات يختار منها الطالب المعنى الصحيح للمفردة الهدف التي وردت في النص التاريخي. وقد كشفت نتائج الدراسة عما يأتي: 1-أن متوسط الإجابات الصحيحة لأفراد العينة كان متدنياً إلى حد ما، حيث بلغ متوسط الإجابات الصحيحة لطلاب الصف الأول المتوسط 54,9%، بينما بلغ متوسط الإجابات الصحيحة لطلاب الصف الثاني المتوسط 45,4%. 2-وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في معرفة طلاب الصف الأول المتوسط للمفردات اللغوية بالنظر إلى متغير موقع المدرسة، وذلك لصالح طلاب مدرسة مجمع الملك سعود التي تقع جغرافيا في الناحية الشمالية لمدينة الرياض. 3-عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في معرفة طلاب الصف الثاني المتوسط للمفردات اللغوية بالنظر إلى متغير موقع المدرسة. وقد كان عن أهم توصيات الدراسة ما يأتي: 1-إسناد تأليف كتب المواد الاجتماعية لأكثر من متخصص (من التاريخ، المناهج وطرق التدريس، علم النفس وتقنيات التعليم) 2-ضرورة مراعاة جوانب النمو لدى طلاب المرحلة المتوسطة عند تأليف الكتب المقررة، وتلك عن طريق تضمين محتوى هذه الكتب مفردات لغوية مألوفة ومناسبة لقدرات الطلاب العقلية. 3-إجراء المزيد من الدراسات لمعرفة مدى معرفة الطلاب والطالبات للمفردات اللغوية في جميع المناهج ولجميع المراحل الدراسية.
The purpose of this study is to know the knowledge of intermediate phase students in Riyadh city of some words that are mentioned in their history curriculum. The study sample is (500) students who are chosen in a categorical and random way through schools belonging to five supervising centers in Riyadh city. The study instrument is an achievement test that consists of a number of historical texts which have been taken from history curriculum determined to the study sample. Each text consists of one word which is the main goal, and each text has three choices from which the student would choose the correct meaning of the aimed word in that historical text. The results revealed the following: - The average of the correct answers for the sample was low to some extent, where the average of the correct answers for the first intermediate class was 54.9%, however, the average of the correct answers for second intermediate class was 45.4%. - there were statistical differences in the students' knowledge of Words for the first intermediate class, regarding schools location, in favor of King Saud Compound School students which is geographically located in the northern side of Riyadh city. - There were no statistical differences in the second intermediate class students' knowledge of words concerning the variable of school location. The most important recommendations are as follows: - Entrustment of social studies books compilation to many specialist (from history, curriculum and instructions, psychology and educational technologies). - The necessity of paying attention the growth aspects for the Student of the intermediate phase when writing curriculum, by including the familiar words that suit the students' mental abilities into these books. - Conducting more studies to know the extent of the students' awareness of these words in all curriculums and for all study phases
