هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن معيقات تعلم الرياضيات في المرحلة الثانوية في مدينة ذمار باليمن، وذلك من وجهة نظر الطلبة, من خلال تقديراتهم لمجالات المعيقات الأربعة (الكتاب المدرسي والمادة الدراسية، معيقات تتعلق بالطالب نفسه، المعلم وأساليب التدريسية وإدارته الصفية وتقويمه لتعلم الطلبة، البيئة التعليمية) هادفة إلى وضع صورة واضحة عن هذه المعيقات.
This study aimed at identifying the obstacles of learning mathematics in Thamar City in Yemen as perceived by students. The obstacles were categorized into four domains. 1- Obstacles related to textbooks 2- Obstacles related to students 3- Obstacles related to Teachers 4- Obstacles related to the educational environment. The population of the study consisted of (4121) secondary students in Thamar city in Yemen for the academic year 2006/ 2007 (2728 males and 1393 females). The sample of the study consisted of (577) students (382 males and 195 females) and was randomly chosen. The results revealed that the average of the obstacles of learning mathematics as perceived by students (2.94) out of 5, which was medium level rank. Significant statistical differences were revealed at (α= 0.05) among student's perspectives of bastilles due to the level of achievement in favor of the low achievers. No significant statistical differences were revealed among student's perspectives of obstacles due to gender. In the light of the results, the study was concluded with some recommendations.\
