يتناول البحث في مقدمته مفهوم كلمة سينوغرافيا كمصطلح مسرحي مرجعاً أصل الكلمة للغة اللاتينية مما يعني وجود مفهوم للسينوغرافيا عند الإغريق ثم عند الرومان في حين يتناول مفهومها في عصر النهضة باعتبارها فن تصوير المنظور في حين في القرن التاسع عشر ورغم ظهور المخرج لم تكن الكلمة مستخدمة رغم وجود دور للسينوغرافيا في هذا العصر ولكن بمفهومنا المعاصر في حين طلب كريج الاهتمام بالصورة وفي القرن العشرين أصبح المصطلح يعني فن صناعة الصورة المسرحية. بعد ذلك يركز البحث على المفهوم التفصيلي للسينوغرافيا في القرن العشرين بعتبارها لغة مسرحية... وعنصراً أساسياً من لغات خشبة المسرح أي لغات العرض المسرحي خاصة بعد ظهور عروض تلغي اللغة المنطوقة وهو ما أدى إلى زيادة أهمية لغة الصورة كبديل منطقي للغة المنطوقة. كما يطرح البحث دور الإضاءة في السينوغرافيا ثم يتم التطبيق على بعض العروض المسرحية العربية لتحليل دور الصورة المرئية السينوغرافيا في كونها لغة مكملة ورئيسة في العروض ومن هذه العروض ضوء وظل (عرض بحريني) والعرض الفلسطيني قصص تحت الاحتلال حيث أكدت السينوغرافيا على فكرة العروض وأضافت لها لغة مرئية ممتعة وحاملة للفكر.
The research’s introduction discusses the concept of “Scenography” as a theatrical term tracing back the word’s origin to Latin, which means that the concept of Scenography exists in the Greeks and then the Romans. Moreover, the word was used in the Renaissance as the art of image perspective, while in the nineteenth century, and despite the appearance of the director, the word was not used although there was a role for Scenography but in out contemporary concept. However, Craig asked to give more attention to the image, and in the twentieth century the term became to mean the art of theatrical image making. Later, the research focuses on the detailed concept of Scenography during the twentieth century as theatrical language ... and a basic element of the stage languages, considering it performance languages, especially after the emergence of performances that omit the verbal language, which highlighted the importance of image language as an alternative to verbal language. Furthermore, the research discusses the role of lighting in Scenography and t applying it on some Arabic plays to analyze the role of the visual image (Scenography) as being a supplementary and basic language in the performances. The plays that will be analyzed are “Light and Shadow” from Bahrain and “Stories under the Occupation” from Palestine, where Scenography emphasized the idea of the performances and added an exciting visual language to it that consist of though.
