The Effect of Using Electronic Teaching Portfolios on Developing Teaching Competencies among Prospective English as foreign Language Teachers

هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى دراسة إثر استخدام حقائب التدريس الوثائقية الالكترونية في تنمية الكفايات التدريسية لدي طلبة شعبة اللغة الإنجليزية بكلية التربية. تمثلت مجموعة الدراسة من طلبة الفرقة الثالثة بشعبة اللغة الإنجليزية بكلية التربية بالسويس بجمهورية مصر العربية. تم اختيارهم وتقسيمهم عشوائيا إلي مجموعتين تجريبية وضابطة ،بلغ عدد الطلبة في كل مجموعة 24 طالبا. تم إجراء اختيار قبلي لمجموعتي الدراسة تمثل في اختيار الكفايات التدريسية. تم تطبيق التجربة بتدريب المجموعة التجريبية على إنشاء حقائب تدريس وثائقية الكترونية واستخدامها في تنمية الكفايات التدريسية . تم إجراء التجربة خلال الفصل الدراسي الثاني للعام الأكاديمي 2009-2010م. بعد انتهاء التجربة تم إجراء الاختبار البعدي لمجموعتي الدراسة تمثل في اختيار الكفايات التدريسية. تم حساب الفروق بين متوسطي درجات اختيار الكفايات التدريسية القبلي والبعدي باستخدام اختبار (ت). تم رصد النتائج وتفسيرها وأظهرها النتائج: - وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متوسطي درجات المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة على اختبار الكفايات التدريسية البعدي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. - وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في متوسط الفروق بين اختبار الكفايات التدريسية القبلي والبعدي بالنسبة للمجموعة التجريبية لصالح اختبار الكفايات التدريسية البعدي. تشير النتائج إلي فاعلية استخدام حقائب التدريس الوثائقية الالكترونية لتنمية الكفايات التدريسية ادي طلبة شعبة اللغة الإنجليزية بكلية التربية- المجموعة التجريبية بالدراسة الحالية. أكدت التوصيات على ضرورة أن تتبني كليات التريبة استخدام حقائب التدريس الوثائقية الالكترونية كأداة لتقويم أداء طلبة شعبة اللغة الإنجليزية بها لتنمية الكفايات التدريسية لديهم . كما ظهرت الحاجة لدراسة اثر استخدام حقائب التدريس الوثائقية الالكترونية في تنمية التفكير التأملي والاتجاه نحو التدريس وإعلاء تقدير الذات لدي طلبة شعبة اللغة الإنجليزية بكليات التربية . \ This study was designed to investigate the effect of using electronic teaching portfolios on developing teaching competencies among prospective English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers. The participants were third year prospective EFL teachers at Suez Faculty of Education, Egypt. Twenty four prospective EFL teachers were in each of the experimental and control groups. Both groups were pre-tested by using the Teaching Competencies Test (TCT). The experimental group received conferences on creating and using electronic teaching portfolios to develop their teaching competencies. The experiment was conducted at the very beginning of the second term of the academic year 2009-2010. The experimental group and the control group were post-tested by using the TCT. Differences between the mean scores of the pre- and post-TCT were calculated by using the t- Value Test. The results showed that statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group on the post-TCT in favor of the experimental group. The results also revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the experimental group between the pre- and post-TCT in favor of the post-TCT. The results indicated the usefulness of using electronic teaching portfolios in developing prospective EFL teachers' teaching competencies. It is recommended that teacher education programs should put electronic teaching portfolios into practice to be implemented by prospective EFL teachers during their practicum to document progress on clear and well-specified scoring criteria and support the mission of performance-based teacher assessment to support prospective EFL teachers' improvement in teaching. Recommendations also included studying the effect of using electronic teaching portfolios on developing prospective EFL teachers’ reflective thinking and attitudes towards teaching and raising their self-esteem. |
