The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of both mind and concept mapping on developing literacy skills of EFL preparatory stage students. The sample of the study consisted of one hundred twenty eight second grade students at Bent El-Shataa preparatory school in Damietta Governorate. The three groups pre-post test quasi experimental design was used. The instruments of the study included the literacy skills questionnaire and a literacy skills test. The results of the study revealed that mind as well as concept mapping significantly developed EFL. literacy skills for preparatory stage students. Moreover, MM has been reported to be more effective than CM in developing EFL. preparatory school students' writing skills. On the other hand, CM has been found to be more effective than MM in developing EFL preparatory school students' reading skills,
