هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى وصف معدلات انتشار الإعاقة العقلية في مرحلة الطفولة بمحافظة بورسعيد، ووصف الظروف الاقتصادية، والاجتماعية، والنفسية لهؤلاء الأطفال وأسرهم، كذلك حصر الخدمات المقدمة لهذه الفئة وأسرهم، والاحتياجات اللازمة لهم وذلك لتقديم الخدمات الصحية، والأكاديمية، والاجتماعية المناسبة لهذه الفئة بالشكل الأمثل. وقد حاولت الدراسة الإجابة عن الأسئلة التالية: ما هي خصائص وظروف الأطفال المعوقين عقليا في محافظة بور سعيد؟. ماهي أهم المشكلات الاقتصادية لفئة الأطفال المعاقين عقليا وأسرهم؟. ماهي أهم المشكلات الاجتماعية لفئة الأطفال المعاقين عقليا وأسرهم؟. ماهي أهم المشكلات النفسية لفئة الأطفال المعاقين عقليا وأسرهم؟. ماهي طبيعة نظم الخدمات والرعاية المقدمة لفئة الأطفال المعاقين عقليا وأسرهم؟. ما هي أهم احتياجات فئة الأطفال المعاقين عقليا وأسرهم ؟. وقد تكون مجتمع الدراسة من (80) طفلا من الأطفال المعاقين عقليا بمحافظة بورسعيد، تراوحت أعمارهم من (3-18) سنة، و(80) أسرة من أمهات الأطفال المعاقين عقليا. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي، وقد تم جمع المعلومات اللازمة من خلال تطبيق استمارة ضمن مجموعة من الاستمارات لخصائص الأطفال المعاقين عقليا، استمارة بنود الإنفاق الأسرى، استمارة المشكلات الاقتصادية للأسرة، استمارة المشكلات الاجتماعية للأسرة، استمارة المشكلات النفسية للطفل، استمارة المشكلات النفسية التي تعاني منها الأسرة، وكذلك استمارة لاحتياجات أسر الأطفال المعاقون. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى النتائج التالية: وصف خصائص وظروف الأطفال المعوقين عقليا في محافظة بورسعيد. أظهرت أهم المشكلات الاقتصادية، والاجتماعية، والنفسية التي تواجه فئة الأطفال المعاقين عقليا وأسرهم-كشفت عن نظم وطبيعة الخدمات والرعاية المقدمة للأطفال المعاقين. بينت أهم احتياجات ومتطلبات الأطفال المعاقين عقليا وأسرهم. واعتمادا لهذه النتائج أوصت الباحثة بتقديم مزيد من الدعم الاقتصادي، والمادي، والنفسي لأسر الأطفال المعاقين، كما أوصت بمزيد من البحث حتى يمكن تحسين الظروف الاجتماعية، والاقتصادية لهذه الأسر بالمحافظة.
The current study aims at describing the ratios of the spread of intellectual retardation in the stage of childhood in Port Said governorate as well as describing economic , social and mental circumstances for these children and their families. It also aims at determining the services offered for this category and their families. The study also aims at determining the important requirements for them for the purpose of presenting appropriate health, academic and social services for this category in the optimal way. The study tries to answer the following questions: 1-What are the characteristics and circumstances of the intellectually handicapped children in Port Said? 2-What are the most important economic problems for the category of intellectually handicapped children intellectual and their families? 3-What are the most important social problems for the category of intellectually handicapped children intellectual and their families? 4-What are the most important psychological problems for the category of intellectually handicapped children and their families? 5-What is the nature of the services systems and the care offered for the category of intellectually handicapped children and their families? 6-What are the most important requirements of the category of intellectually handicapped children and their families? The community of study consists of (80) children from the intellectually handicapped children in Port Said whose ages ranging between 3-18 and the number of their families is 80 families. For the purpose of carrying out the goals of the study, the descriptive method is to be used. The required information have been collected by means of the application of an inquiry that included a number of application forms for the characteristics of children intellectually handicapped children. The investigator uses the application form of family expenditure , application form of the economic problems for the family, application form of the social problems for the family, application form of the psychological problems of the child, application form of the psychological problems from which the family suffers and likewise the application form for the requirements of the families of the handicapped children. The study carries out the following results :A description of the characteristics and circumstances of the intellectually handicapped children in Port Said. The study shows the most important economic, social and psychological problems by which such category of intellectually handicapped children and their families are encountered .The study uncovers the system and nature of the services and the care offered for the handicapped children. The study shows the most important needs and requirements of the intellectually handicapped children and for their families. Depending on these results, the investigator recommends giving extra the economic , financial and psychological support for the intellectually handicapped children families. The investigator also recommends more research for the improvement of the social and economic circumstances for their families in the governance.
