تركزت أهداف البحث في إعداد استبيان لقياس توقعات الكـفاءة الذاتـيّـة العامة للشباب المنتمين إلى المنتديات الشبابية في محافظة بابل ، فضلا"عن التعرف على توقعات الكـفاءة الذاتـيّـة العامة لديهم،وطبق البحث على مجموعة من الشباب المنتمين إلى منتديات الشباب في محافظة بابل للمدة من 18/1/2010 ولغاية 24/3/2010، واستعملت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي بالأسلوب المسحي،ومن أهم خطوات إجراء البحث هي حصر عدد الشباب المنتمين إلى منتديات شباب ورياضة بابل، كذلك تطبيق الاستبانة الرئيسة المكونة من (10) فقرات على أفراد عينة البحث البالغة (240) شابا في مواقف قياس جماعية وفردية،حسب مقتضيات الظروف الموضوعية للتطبيق،وقد جرى التطبيق في أماكن وجود أفراد عينة البحث،إذ تم توزيع (240) استبانه أعيد منها (221) واستبعد منها (11) استبانه بسبب عدم الإجابة ليها بصورة كاملة، وقد بلغ عدد الاستبيانات الصالحة (210) استبانه أدخلت في المعالجة الإحصائية النهائية،باستعمال الوسائل الإحصائية المناسبة ومن ثم عرضها وتحليلها ومناقشتها بالأسلوب العلمي معتمدة على المصادر والمراجع ذات العلاقة ومن ثم الخروج بالاستنتاجات التي كان أهمها تم التوصل إلى وضع استبانة ملائمة لقياس توقعات الكـفاءة الذاتـيّـة العامة للشباب بأعمار(16-18) سنة،كذلك تمتع الشباب المنتمين إلى منتديات شباب ورياضة بابل بكـفاءة ذاتـيّـة عامة وبشكل واضح ، وفي ضوء هذه الاستنتاجات أوصت الباحثة بعدة توصيات كان منها إمكانية استعمال المقياس الحالي من قبل المشرفين على الشباب المنتمين قي منتديات ،كذلك ضرورة الاهتمام بالجانب النفس لاسيما المتعلق بشخصية الشباب أسوة بالجوانب البدنية والمهارية والتربوية.
