استهدفت الدراسة تحديد الشراكات بين الجامعة والأطراف ذات العلاقة في المجالات المختلفة: التعليم، التدريب، البحث العلمي، وتقل التقنية وتوطينها، وتحديد الشراكات مع المؤسسات المحلية والعالمية المتميزة في بناء القدرات التقنية، خاصة تطوير المجمعات التقنية، وحاضنات الأعمال، ورعاية الموهوبين، والخدمات الاستشارية. إضافة إلي اقتراح أنماط الشراكات المحققة لتنمية المجتمع وتلتقي مع رؤية الجامعة الاستراتيجية. وقد عنيت الدراسة بالشراكة المؤسسية الأكاديمية وتشمل مختلف أوجه التعاون التي من المتوقع أن تتضمن منافع متبادلة بين الجامعات والأطراف ذات العلاقة من أعمال وجامعات مناظرة، بغرض تدعيم دور الجامعة في الاقتصاد المعرفي. بينت الدراسة أن الشراكات الجامعية شكلت مصدرا أساسيا لدعم وبناء القدرات التعليمية والبحثية والمؤسسية للجامعات، خاصة في الدول النامية، ليس فقط تحت ضغط التطورات العالمية الحديثة التي فرضت حتمية التواصل بين المؤسسات التعليمية حول العالم، وتحقيق مصالح مشتركة وتبادلية، وإنما يدافع التطوير والتحديث وبناء القدرات البحثية والابتكارية ونقل المعرفة، مع حداثة كثير من الجامعات في الدول النامية؛ قابلها اهتمام كبير من الجامعات العالمية بالشراكة مع الجامعات في الدول النامية لتحقيق منافع مشتركة. خلصت الدراسة إلي أن الشراكات الجامعية يمكن أن تقوم بدور أساسي في دعم وتطوير دور الجامعات السعودية في بناء مجتمع يعتمد على اقتصاد المعرفة، من خلال بناء قدراتها في مجالات خلق المعرفة (Research)، وتطوير رأس المال البشري (Transmission of knowledge) ونقل التطبيقات التكنولوجية إلي قطاعات الأعمال والمجتمع ( (knowledge of Application
The objective of the study is to assert the important role of University as a Partner in Knowledge-Based Economy and determine the main U-B PARTNERSHIP with main partners , for that the University King Abdulazez university KAU may implement measures to which its educational offer, and in particular the diversity and uniqueness thereof, reflects challenges posed by contemporary economy. It is of great significance since advances in modem technologies - biotechnology, nanotechnology as well as various disciplines related to environmental protection, medicine, computer science and economics will only be possible if highly-qualified specialists are available. The development of economically-crucial fields of study and research by means of facilities and apparatus of the University of KAU is an important factor in economic growth. Therefore, Many of the courses must introduced as part of new advanced programmes which service knowledge economy in biology, biotechnology, physics, chemistry and mathematics and purchase new advanced equipment and apparatus to enable the University to modernise and upgrade its laboratories. One of the main results of the study is to establish knowledge exchange between university and Businesses ,and support the professional development of young scholars conducting research in the field of mathematics and natural sciences. These young scientists may in the future work in the R&D sector and therefore contribute to the development and implementation of innovations and enhance the competitiveness of Saudis manufactures industry .
