The translation of children’s literature has been long neglected and overlooked for a number of constraints that differ from one culture to another. This topic has gained a problematic dimension as these translated books are oriented toward a young receiver, the child with back authority, that of the adult. Therefore, my paper will focus on such elements as the kind of strategy that the translator should adopt, the way he tests acceptability of the source text into the target language, and the establishment of norms in children’s literature that may be rendered in the target text. Besides, this paper shall explore whether acceptability may be shaped by the stylistic effort or by any other elements such as moral values. And finally, one may ask: can we speak of educational and didactical aims in translating children’s literature whereby not only language is transferred but culture as well? All this issues will make the matter of my presentation and rise answers as well as new questions. |
