المستخلص: The aim of the research is to identify the level of self-affirmation and the level of ego flexibility among a sample of third-secondary secondary students in public schools in Damascus Governorate. And the relationship between self-affirmation and ego flexibility. And the differences between the mean scores of the responses of the individuals on the self confidence scale and the ego elasticity scale according to the variables (gender, educational level of the father). The researcher adopted the descriptive approach. The researcher used the self-assurance measure from Rathus (1988) and the ego elasticity scale (Block & Kremen, 1996). ). The main findings of the research: The level of self-assertion among the sample of students in the third year secondary school in the schools of Damascus was high (3.44). The level of flexibility of the ego of the sample members of students in the third secondary school in Damascus was high (2.78). There is a positive correlation between the scores of the individuals on the self-confidence scale and their degrees on the ego elasticity scale. There were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the individuals on the self-confidence scale according to the gender variable. There were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the research sample on the self-confidence scale according to the father's educational level variable for the students who had the educational level of their parents (university degree and higher). There were no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the individuals on the ego elasticity scale according to gender variable There were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the individuals on the ego elasticity scale according to the variable of the father's educational level for the students who had the educational level of their parents (university degree and above).

هدف البحث إلى تعرف مستوى توكيد الذات ومستوى مرونة الأنا لدى عينة من طلبة الصف الثالث الثانوي في المدارس العامة بمحافظة دمشق. والعلاقة بين توكيد الذات ومرونة الأنا. والفروق بين متوسط درجات إجابات أفراد عينة البحث على مقياس توكيد الذات ومقياس مرونة الأنا تبعا لمتغيري: (الجنس، المستوى التعليمي للأب). واعتمدت الباحثة على المنهج الوصفي. وبلغت عينة البحث (810) طالبا وطالبة من طلبة الصف الثالث الثانوي العام ذكوراً وإناثاً في ثانويات محافظة دمشق، واستخدمت الباحثة مقياس توكيد الذات من إعداد راتوس (Rathus) عام (1988)، ومقياس مرونة الأنا من إعداد بلوك وكريمن (Block & Kremen, 1996). ومن أبرز النتائج التي توصل البحث إليها: 1) إن مستوى توكيد الذات لدى أفراد عينة من طلبة الصف الثالث الثانوي العام في مدارس مدينة دمشق كان مرتفعا بدرجة بلغت (3.44). 2) إن مستوى مرونة الأنا لدى أفراد عينة من الطلبة في الثالث الثانوي في مدارس مدينة دمشق كان مرتفعا بدرجة بلغت (2.78) 3) وجود علاقة ارتباطية إيجابية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين درجات أفراد عينة البحث على مقياس توكيد الذات ودرجاتهم على مقياس مرونة الأنا. 4) عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسط درجات أفراد عينة البحث على مقياس توكيد الذات تبعا لمتغير الجنس. 5) وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسط درجات أفراد عينة البحث على مقياس توكيد الذات تبعاً لمتغير المستوى التعليمي للأب لصالح الطلبة الذين كان المستوى التعليمي لآبائهم (إجازة جامعية فأعلى). 6) عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسط درجات أفراد عينة البحث على مقياس مرونة الأنا تبعا لمتغير الجنس. 7) وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسط درجات أفراد عينة البحث على مقياس مرونة الأنا تبعاً لمتغير المستوى التعليمي للأب لصالح الطلبة الذين كان المستوى التعليمي لآبائهم (إجازة جامعية فأعلى).
