المستخلص: La présente étude vise à traiter une problématique qui s’inscrit dans la sociologie des interactions familleécole pour tenter de comprendre les liens complexes qu’entretiennent ces deux institutions. Nous voulons à travers cet article analyser les représentations des parents d'élèves de l'école publique en Algérie afin de savoir quelle image que se font les parents de l’école. Nous tenterons, à travers une approche sociologique qualitative, d’étudier leurs représentations de l'école actuelle par rapport à celle qu’ils ont connue dans le passé, et de voir ce qui a vraiment changé dans l’école, ce qui est en cours de changement et ce qui n'a pas encore changé. Enfin, nous tenterons de répondre à l’une des questions principales de notre étude: l’école d’aujourd’hui suscite-t-elle l’intérêt des parents et des familles comme moyen d’ascension sociale?

This study aims at treating a problematic that is a part of the sociology of family-school interactions so as to try to understand the complexities combining the two institutions. We will, through this article, analyze the representations of the parents of public school pupils in Algeria to see how parents consider the school. We will try, through a qualitative sociological approach, to study their representations of the current school compared to the one they had in the past, and to see what has really changed in the school. Finally, we will attempt to answer one of the major issues of our study: does school raise the interest of parents and families as a means of social advancement?

تكمن أهمية هذه الدراسة من الناحية السوسيولوجية لكونها تعالج إشكالية تندرج في إطار سوسيولوجية تفاعل الأسرة بالمدرسة كمحاولة لفهم الارتباطات المعقدة بينهما، حيث نريد من خلال هذا المقال إبراز تمثلات ومواقف أولياء التلاميذ تجاه المدرسة العمومية في الجزائر لهدف معرفة، ما هي الصورة التي يحملها الآباء في أذهانهم، والمكانة الاجتماعية التي تحضي بها المدرسة عندهم. سنحاول من خلال هذه الدراسة السوسيولوجية الكيفية أن نهتم بدراسة وتحليل آراء الأولياء حول واقع المدرسة الحالية مقارنة بوضعها في الماضي، ما هي الأشياء التي تغيرت، والتي تتغير، والتي لم تتغير إطلاقا؟ وأخيرا، سنحاول الإجابة عن تساؤل رئيسي في بحثنا وهو: هل المدرسة الحالية مازالت تستقطب اهتمام الأولياء والعائلات بشكل أوسع كوسيلة لتحقيق الارتقاء الاجتماعي؟
