المستخلص: هدف البحث إلى توضيح دور المدرسة الثانوية في تنمية الديمقراطية لدى الطلاب من خلال التعرف على الممارسات الديمقراطية الواقعية لمديري ومعلمي مدارس التعليم الثانوي العام، والوقوف على المعوقات التي تعوق تطبيق الممارسات الديمقراطية داخل المدرسة الثانوية من أجل تحسين المناخ المدرسي، ووضع تصور مقترح لتفعيل الممارسات الديمقراطية كمدخل لتحسين المناخ المدرسي في مرحلة التعليم الثانوي العام، ولتحقيق أهداف البحث استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي وذلك لتناسب طبيعة هذا المنهج مع طبيعة البحث بهدف وصف واقع الممارسات الديمقراطية في مرحلة التعليم الثانوي وتوضيح الآليات التي يمكن من خلالها تفعيل الممارسات الديمقراطية وتحسين المناخ المدرسي في مرحلة التعليم الثانوي، وتستخدم الباحثة هذا المنهج "بغرض وصف ما هو قائم وفهم الظواهر التربوية وتحليلها وتحديد واستنباط العلاقات بينهما"، كما استخدم البحث استبانة موجه إلى عينة من مديري المدارس الثانوية وبعض المعلمين بهدف التعرف على نمط المناخ المدرسي السائد في المدارس الثانوية وواقع الممارسات الديمقراطية وانعكاس ذلك على ظهور بعض المشكلات وتحديد أهم متطلبات تفعيل الممارسات الديمقراطية كمدخل لتحسين المناخ المدرسي في التعليم الثانوية العام، ولقد خلص نتائج البحث إلى قلة وجود دورات تدريبية للعاملين بالمدرسة في مجال العلاقات الإنسانية، ضعف التزام المدرسة بتوفير المناخ الذى يدعم الانتماء وثقافة المواطنة، عزوف الطلاب عن ممارسة الأنشطة نتيجة الإشراف غير الكفء على الأنشطة المدرسية، ضعف قدرة وإمكانات المدرسة على إشباع حاجات وهويات الطلاب وميولهم، كثرة مشاهدة الطالب للمشاجرات ومظاهر العنف في الشوارع والطرقات، وصدور بعض الأفعال والأقوال غير اللائقة من جانب المعلمين داخل حجرات الدراسة، ضعف قدرة الطالب على اتخاذ القرارات وتحمل المسئولية، والتفكير وحل المشكلات في المواقف التعليمية، كما أوصى البحث بضرورة تدريب الطلاب على الحرية يتطلب من المدرسة توفير مناخ ديمقراطي وتغيير المناهج الدراسية الحالية بحيث تتيح قدر أكبر من الحرية، دعم التواصل القوى بين أولياء الأمور وبين المدرسة وبين المجتمع والمدرسة، تحويل الحياة المدرسية إلى نموذج للتطبيقات الديمقراطية يمارس فيها الطلاب دورهم في إدارتها ورسم سياستها وممارسة قيم ومهارات الديمقراطية، تشجيع الطلاب على القيام بعدد من الأنشطة التي تتعلق بموضوعات المنهج وتخدم المدرسة والبيئة وتدعيمهم، تضمين المناهج التوجيهات الإيجابية الحديثة في بناء المناهج ومنها مهارات التفكير، ومهارات حل المشكلات والتعلم الذاتي والتعلم التعاوني والتواصل الجيد مع مصادر المعرفة وإتاحة الفرصة لاختيار الأنشطة المناسبة بقدراتهم وميولهم وحاجاتهم.

The objective of the research is to clarify the role of secondary school in the development of student democracy by identifying the realistic democratic practices of the principals and teachers of general secondary education schools and to identify the obstacles that impede the application of democratic practices within the secondary school in order to improve the school climate. To improve the school climate in the general secondary education stage, and to achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the descriptive approach to suit the nature of this approach with the nature of research in order to describe the reality of democratic practices in secondary education The researcher uses this method "to describe what exists and to understand and analyze educational phenomena and to identify and develop relationships between them." The research also used a questionnaire directed at a sample of secondary school principals and some teachers In order to identify the pattern of school climate prevailing in secondary schools and the reality of democratic practices and reflect on the emergence of some problems and identify the most important requirements for the activation of democratic practices as an input to improve the school climate in general secondary education, The lack of training courses for school staff in the field of human relations, the weakness of the school's commitment to provide a climate that supports belonging and the culture of citizenship, the reluctance of students to practice activities due to inefficient supervision of school activities, the weakness of the school's ability to satisfy the needs and identities of students and their tendencies, The student of quarrels and manifestations of violence in the streets and roads, and the issuance of some inappropriate acts and statements by teachers in the classroom, the weakness of the student's ability to take decisions and take responsibility, thinking and solving problems in educational situations, and recommended research harmful The training of students on freedom requires the school to provide a democratic climate and change the current curriculum so as to provide greater freedom, support strong communication between parents and between school and society and school, transform school life into a model for democratic applications in which students exercise their role in managing and shaping their policies and practice. Values and skills of democracy, encouraging students to carry out a number of activities related to curriculum topics and serve the school and the environment and strengthen them, including the curriculum positive new guidance in the construction of curricula, including thinking skills, problem solving skills and learning Self-learning and collaborative communication with good sources of knowledge and the opportunity to choose the appropriate activities with their abilities, tendencies and needs.
