The main aim of our study is to identify the content of the social representations of the private lessons among a sample of middle school students in order to investigate their ideas and views vis-à-vis the private lessons. We relied on an exploratory approach based on several techniques such as the association relation method and a supplementary questionnaire. This study was performed on a sample of 80 students and the results of the study shows that the students had general knowledge about the subject of private lessons. The elements of the central core were (success, excellence, understanding more, basic modules and money) in addition to the peripheral elements that reflect the student’s behaviors. As for the professor, the central core consists of the elements (good, qualified, superior, not enough salary, understanding students and humility). It has been shown that the positive and cognitive qualities dominate the central system; also, we have reached through the form that the main motivations for practicing private lessons are cognitive, psychological, and social motivation. |
