المستخلص: تناول البحث واقع الجامعات المصرية في ضوء معايير التصنيفات العالمية للجامعات من منظور نقدي، واقتصر البحث على دراسة أشهر أربعة تصنيفات للجامعات في العالم وهما تصنيف شنغهاي، والتايمز، وويبومتركس، وكيو إس، ومن خلال ذلك تم الكشف عن موقع الجامعات المصرية بين تلك التصنيفات، واستخدم البحث المنهج النقدي والذي يعد أحد المناهج الكيفية، وقد توصل البحث للعديد من النتائج أهمها: أن الجامعات المصرية تحتل مكانة متدنية بين تلك التصنيفات، كما أن هذه التصنيفات تعتمد على تصنيف ومقارنة جامعات مختلفة في كل شيء تقريبا، بما في ذلك الموارد المادية والبشرية، وعدد ساعات العمل، وعدد العاملين ومؤهلاتهم، ونسبة المدرسين والباحثين إلى الطلبة إلى غير ذلك، وبالتالي فهي مقارنات غير صحيحة من وجهة نظر علمية بحتة، والتي تقتضي مقارنة أشياء أو مؤسسات علمية متماثلة في كل شيء، ولكن التصنيفات الحالية، تقارن جامعات غير قابلة للمقارنة أصلًا، ومن ثم يوصي البحث بضرورة تحول الجامعات المصرية إلى وحدات منتجة وبيوت خبرة مما ينعكس على توظيف قطاعات الجامعة التوظيف الأمثل في عصر اقتصاد المعرفة وهو ما سوف ينعكس على رفع تصنيف الجامعات المصرية أما نظيراتها العالمية، وانتهى البحث بوضع ثلاثة سيناريوهات مستقبلية لواقع الجامعات المصرية بين تلك التصنيفات.

The current research handles the reality of the Egyptian universities, from a critical perspective, in the light of the international ranking standards. The research is limited to analyzing the most four famous universities' rankings in the world; namely: Shanghai, Times, Webometrics, and QS and through this analysis; the rank of the Egyptian universities was identified. The current research is implemented using the critical method which is considered to be one of the qualitative methods. The research is finalized to a number of significant results; one important result is that these rankings are determined according to the comparison and the ranking of different universities in various aspects; including the human and financial resources, the number of working hours, the number and the qualifications of the employees, the percentage of teachers and researchers in comparison with students' number and so on. Thus, from a scientifically point of view, these comparisons are considered to be incorrect because making such comparison required these scientific institutions to be similar in all aspects from the beginning. The current rankings are determined according to comparison between universities which are, basically, invalid to be comparable. From this point, the current research recommends the necessity of changing the Egyptian universities into productive experienced institutions because this will help to make a good use of the university systems in the knowledge economy era and, as a result, this will positively reflect on elevating the rank of the Egyptian universities over the other international ones. The research is finalized by suggesting three future scenarios for the reality of the Egyptian universities among those rankings.
