المستخلص: The translators/ interprets played and still play an important role in multilingual communication which is increasing all the time. This kind of communication improves the different exchanges between people speaking different languages. The reason why today it becomes necessary for companies to have translators/interpreters despite their activities .the question that asks itself is what are the personnel qualities and professional qualifications for interpreter/ translator? Defining those qualities and qualifications helps practicing the profession in field, and contributes to elaborate an academic program which coordinates between the needs of the current market and the college formation. Also this study allows making a future personnel and professional profile of the translator/ interpreter including the polyvalence as a need more than a quality.

La contribution des traducteurs /interprètes dans la communication multilingue est sans cesse croissante car elle assure la promotion des divers échanges entre les communautés linguistiques. Raison pour laquelle le recrutement des traducteurs/interprètes est indispensable dans toutes les entreprises. Quelles sont donc les qualités personnelles et les qualifications professionnelles requises pour les traducteurs/interprètes salariés? Déterminer ces qualités et qualifications facilite l’exercice de la fonction sur le terrain et permettra d’élaborer un programme académique qui met en évidence l’importance du profil personnel du traducteur/ interprète en adéquation avec le marché du travail. La formation académique en profitera également en mettant en évidence la polyvalence inhérente au traducteur/ interprète salarié comme étant une exigence professionnelle plutôt qu’une qualité.
