المستخلص: The study aims to dismantle the structure of the operational pattern of intellectual extremism as a major determinant of extremism from university professors’ perception. The sample of the study is selected randomly and consists of 258 faculty members from Jordanian universities. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire of five dimensions is designed as follows: causes (equilibrium), incubating environment (boundaries), operational dimension (adaptation), fate (stability), and treatments. The questions of the study are derived from these dimensions where the first one is concerned with the intellectual extremism as a closed operational system; the second one is related to causes; the third one is related to evaluating the incubating environment and operational dimension; the forth is related to results; and the last one concern solutions. The data is collected from the random sample through the questionnaire, which its validity and reliability were verified earlier. The analysis and evaluation of the results demonstrate an existence of strong relationships and statistically significant correlations between the dimensions of the study. Also, the results indicate that the overall score of the scale is high and that there is strong evidence that the pattern of intellectual extremism is a closed system in operational terms. Finally, a set of recommendations are given, the most prominent of which is the need to dismantle the intellectual incubators of extremism, by opening the state to society and consolidating the values of justice and equality.

هدفت الدراسة إلى تفكيك بنية النسق العملياتي للتطرف الفكري بوصفه محددا رئيسا للتطرف من وجهة نظر أساتذة الجامعات الأردنية. جمعت البيانات من عينة عشوائية تضمنت (أعضاء هيئة التدريس في الجامعات الأردنية)، بلغ قوامها (٢٥٨) من الأساتذة، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم تصميم استبانة تتكون من خمسة أبعاد هي: الأسباب (التوازن)، البيئة الحاضنة (الحدود)، البعد العملياتي (التكيف)، المآلات (الاستقرار)، المعالجات. وقد اشتقت من هذه الأبعاد أسئلة الدراسة، عني الأول بالتطرف الفكري كنسق عملياتي منغلق، والثاني بالأسباب، والثالث بتقييم البيئة الحاضنة والبعد العملياتي، والرابع بالنتائج، والخامس بالحلول، باستخدام استبانة تم التأكد من صدقها وثباتها. وقد برهن تحليل النتائج وتقييمها على وجود علاقات وترابطات قوية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين أبعاد الدراسة. حيث كانت الدرجة الكلية للمقياس مرتفعة، ولقد وجدت الدراسة أدلة قوية على أن نسق التطرف الفكري هو نسق منغلق من الناحية العملياتية. وخلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات، أبرزها ضرورة تفكيك الحواضن الفكرية للتطرف، عبر انفتاح الدولة على المجتمع وترسيخ قيم العدالة والمساواة.
