|a تعد الجودة في التعليم العالي إحدى وسائل تحسين وتطوير نوعية التعليم والنهوض بمستواه في عصر العولمة، الذي يمكن وصفه بأنه عصر الجودة فلم تعد هذه الأخيرة حلما تسعى إليه المؤسسات التعليمية؛ بل أصبحت ضرورة ملحة تمليها التغيرات المتسارعة التي يشهدها قطاع التعليم العالي في جميع أنحاء العالم ومتطلبات الحياة العصرية، حيث تهدف الدراسة إلى تبيان أن الجودة تمثل روح المؤسسة التعليمية، لذلك أصبحت مؤسسات التعليم العالي سوق مفتوح تتفاعل فيه النوعية على حساب الكمية دون أن تعرقلها في ذلك حواجز إدارية أو مادية أو مؤشرات أخرى، وهذا لا يتحقق إلا من خلال إنتاج وتوليد المعرفة مع تحديث أساليب الدراسة الجامعية وتطبيق معايير جودة التعليم العالي.
