| 520 | |b Borrowed words form a small part of the German language, but they still have a great influence on it. They intervene in different fields, such as economy, medicine, politics ... etc. In addition, they are one of the processes of enriching the German language. The aim of our study is to examine the Gallicisms and to show their function in the German language. To achieve this goal, we searched for Gallicisms, in the political rubric of “Das Bild online” from December 1 to 15, 2020. We found 237 Gallicisms. This means that Gallicisms very often used in the language of the press. On the other hand, there are important reasons for using Gallicisms from the German language or from the language of the press, the most important of which are: stylistic variation of utterances, linguistic economy, attracting attention of the reader, recurrent use of German buzzwords, avoiding written or oral repetitions, the lack of exact expression of a term in German and the accuracy of borrowed words, in particular in the field of technical language. | ||
