المستخلص: استهدف البحث الحالي تنمية مهارات التفكير التاريخي باستخدام العملات لدي تلاميذ المرحلة الإعدادية، وقد تكونت مجموعة البحث من (۸۰) تلميذ من تلاميذ الصف الثالث الإعدادي وتم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين ضابطة وتجريبية، حيث تم التدريس للمجموعة التجريبية باستخدام العملات بينما درست المجموعة الضابطة بالطريقة المعتادة، وقامت الباحثة بتطبيق اختبار التفكير التاريخي في مادة الدراسات الاجتماعية (إعداد الباحثة). وتوصل البحث إلى: 1- وجود فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (α ≤ 0.01) بين متوسطي درجات تلاميذ المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة في التطبيق البعدي لاختبار التفكير التاريخي ككل وفي كل مهارة فرعية ورئيسية على حدة، لصالح تلاميذ المجموعة التجريبية. 2- وجود فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (α ≤ 0.01) بين متوسطي درجات تلاميذ المجموعة التجريبية في التطبيقين القبلي والبعدي لاختبار التفكير التاريخي ككل وفي كل مهارة فرعية ورئيسية على حده، لصالح درجات التلاميذ في التطبيق البعدي. وبناءًا عليه فقد أوضحت نتائج البحث أن تدريس مادة الدراسات الاجتماعية باستخدام العملات كان له تأثير فعال في تنمية بعض مهارات التفكير التاريخي لدي تلاميذ المرحلة الإعدادية، ويوصي البحث بضرورة استخدام العملات في تدريس التاريخ في جميع المراحل التعليمية المختلفة، وضرورة تدريب المعلمين علي أسس وإجراءات استخدامه لما تحققه من أهداف تربوية منشودة.

- The current research aimed at developing the historical thinking skills using Currencies among middle school students. The research group consisted of (80) students from the third preparatory grade and they were divided into two groups, control and experimental, where teaching was done to the experimental group using Currencies, while the control group studied in the usual way. The researcher applied the historical thinking test in the subject of social studies (prepared by the researcher). - The current research aimed at developing historical thinking skills using currencies among preparatory stage students, and the research group consisted of (80) pupils from the third grade of preparatory students and were divided into two groups, control and experimental. The experimental group was taught using currencies while the control group studied in the usual taught in the traditional way. The researcher administered a historical thinking test in social studies (prepared by the researcher). The present study has revealed the following findings: - There was a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.01) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post- administration of the historical thinking test as a whole and in each major and sub-skill separately, in favor of the students of the experimental group. - There was a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre-post administration of the historical thinking test as a whole and in each main and sub skill separately, in favor of the students’ scores in the administration of the test. Consequently, the results of the research showed that teaching social studies using currencies had an effective impact on the development of some historical thinking skills, among preparatory stage students, and the research recommends the need to use currencies in teaching history in all different educational stages, and the need to train teachers on the foundations and procedures for using it to achieve the desired educational goals.
