The aim of this research is the use the Know-Want-Learned approach for enhancing the reading comprehension performance of second-year Iraqi students in the Arabic department at college of Arts , University of Thi Qar. This study employed a classroom action research methodology, with 26 students from in the Arabic department at college of Arts , University of Thi Qar serving as research participants. Data was gathered through the use of reading comprehension tests to determine improvements in reading comprehension and classroom observation field notes to identify the benefits and drawbacks of the intervention. At least 70% of the students must meet the test's minimum score of 65 in order to be considered successful. The results showed that the Know-Want- Learned technique increases Iraqi student' success in reading comprehension. The exercise of brainstorming prior knowledge before reading makes the students more engaged and helps them understand the main ideas of the book. All things considered, the findings suggest that the Know-Want-Learned method works well to help Iraqi students understand.
