|a What is the effect of some styles of designing multi-media computer programs on the cognitive achievement and some skills of producing educational televised programs among Instruction Technology Dept. students? Research Scope: 1- The experiment of the research was conducted over a sample of Instruction Technology Dept. students, Fourth Year, Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University due to a number of practical considerations related to the possibility of conducting the experiment. 2- The experiment was limited to the practical part of the academic subject "Televised and Cinematic Photography" which is studied by Instruction Technology Dept. students, Fourth Year, Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University. 3- The experiment is restricted to the skill of blending (montage) among all the skills of producing televised educational programs. Research Methodology: Because of the nature of this research, the researcher used the experimental method in order to examine the effect of the variation of navigation style and simulation style in multi-media computer programs on the cognitive achievement of the practical part of the academic subject "Televised and Cinematic Photography" and the actual performance of the skills of producing televised educational programs. Tools of Experimental Treatment: The experimental tools include a multi-media computer program related to the academic subject “Televised and Cinematic Photography” which is studied by Instruction Technology Dept. students, Fourth Year, Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University, which differs in design according to the variaton in the two independent variables (navigation style and simulation style). Research Sample: The sample was selected from the Instruction Technology Dept. students, Fourth Year, Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University, and they were distributed among the four experimental groups.
|a Research Tools: 1- An observation card for the practical performance related to the skills of televised montage; prepared by the researcher. 2- A cognitive achievement test in the practical part of the skills of televised montage related to the academic subject “Televised and Cinematic Photography” which is studied by Instruction Technology Dept. students, Fourth Year, Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University; prepared by the researcher. Research Recommendations: In the light of the research results, the following recommendations could be highlighted: - Using the hierarchy style of navigation in designing and producing multi-media computer programs is useful for cognitive achievement and learning practical skills, and thus it is important to make use of it when designing the programs that aim at increasing cognitive achievement and practical skills. - It is important to consider the results of this research from the point of view of employing the simulation styles, especially the three-dimensional one, in the design of the multi-media programs in order to use them in teaching the students the practical skills of the applicable and practical parts of academic subjects. - It is important to make use of the multi-media programs capabilities in order to guide the learner and interact with him to achieve the desired educational objectives. - We must direct ourselves towards the use and employment of navigation styles which students can interact with in order to reach the desired educational objectives, especially when the matter is related to cognitive achievement and practical skills, and they also consider the cost of production, required time and exerted efforts for the production process. - It is necessary to have the programs used in designing and producing different styles of simulation in the educational organizations in order to use them in teaching the students how to produce the practical parts of their academic subjects. - It is necessary to increase the pace of producing multi-media computer programs which are interactive in the educational context, and which encourage student training as well as the learning of performance and learning skills. Suggestions for Future Research: In the light of the research results, the following future researches can be suggested: - The research was conducted over the university students, and so the researcher suggests that it could be applied over the students of other educational stages. - The research was limited to the skill of televised montage related to the academic subject “Televised and Cinematic Photography”, and so the researcher suggests it could be held in other study fields. - The research dealt with different types of navigation and simulation and their effect on achievement and practical skills, and so the researcher suggests that it could be re-applied with different dependent variables. - Conducting more researches in order to benefit from the bases of designing and producing multi-media computer programs which are interactive in order to employ new types of navigation and simulation within the screens of such programs as well as decreasing the cost and time and increasing the production according to the scientific and educational rules so that a large number of learners will gain benefit.
