المستخلص: The study aimed to identify the degree to which the social studies curriculum included the aspects of learning related to global citizenship and the teachers’ methods of teaching from their point of view, and to reveal the impact of gender variables, specialization, teaching experience and the academic stage in the opinions of the members of the study sample.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was prepared consisting of (34) phrases and divided into two main areas. After verifying the validity and consistency of the tool, the questionnaire was applied to a sample of about 291 teachers from the public schools in Muscat Governorate. The study has reached several conclusions, the most important of which is: The curriculum of social studies - from the point of view of the teachers of the subject - focuses on the aspects of learning related to global citizenship to a medium degree. It concentrates primarily on global environmental issues and problems and tolerance with others and secondly focuses on global economic issues. The most common activities used by members of the sample to teach subjects related to global citizenship are in the books of social studies and that is to encourage students to express their opinions and respect the views of others and urge them to follow the various media to know global events while they use teaching methods centered around the teacher in his teaching of these subjects. The study revealed that there is an impact of the stage variable studied by the sample on their average views on the learning aspects related to global citizenship that the social studies curriculum focuses on, while there is no impact on gender variables, specialization, and teaching experience on the average views of respondents on the reality of Education for Global Citizenship in the Sultanate of Oman.

هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف درجة تضمين منهج الدراسات الاجتماعية لجوانب التعلم المرتبطة بالمواطنة العالمية وأساليب المعلمين في تدريسها من وجهة نظرهم، والكشف عن أثر متغيرات الجنس، والتخصص، والخبرة التدريسية، والمرحلة الدراسية في آراء أفراد عينة الراسة.
ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم إعداد استبانة تكونت من (34) عبارة، موزعة إلى مجالين رئيسيين، وبعد التأكد من صدق الأداة وثباتها، تم تطبيقها على عينة بلغت نحو (291) معلما ومعلمة من العاملين في المدارس الحكومية التابعة لمحافظة مسقط، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج، أهمها: إن منهج الدراسات الاجتماعية - من وجهة نظر معلمي المادة - يركز على جوانب التعلم المرتبطة بالمواطنة العالمية بدرجة متوسطة، فهو يركز- بالدرجة الأولى - على "القضايا والمشكلات البيئية العالمية"، ثم "التسامح مع الآخرين"، ويركز بالرجة الثالثة على "القضايا الاقتصادية العالمية"، وان أكثر الأنشطة التي يستخدمها أفراد العينة في تدريس المواضيع المرتبطة بالمواطنة العالمية الواردة في كتب الدراسات الاجتماعية، هي: "تشجيع الطلبة على التعبير عن الرأي واحترام آراء الآخرين"، و"حثهم على متابعة وسائل الإعلام المختلفة لتعرف الأحداث العالمية"، وهم يستخدمون طرق التدريس المتمحورة حول المعلم في تدريسه لتلك المواضيع، وكشفت الدراسة عن وجود أثر لمتغير المرحلة الدراسية التي يدرسها أفراد العينة على متوسط آرائهم حول جوانب التعلم المرتبطة بالمواطنة العالمية التي يركز عليها منهج الدراسات الاجتماعية، في حين لا يوجد أثر لمتغيرات الجنس، والتخصص، والخبرة التدريسية على متوسط آراء أفراد العينة حول واقع التربية من أجل المواطنة العالمية في سلطنة عمان.
