This study investigated the good characteristics of Saudi English Language teachers from the perspective of their students. The researcher used an inventory consisting of 24 statements and comprising four categories teaching skills: classroom management, knowledge of teaching, and personality of the teacher. These categories fall under two main categories which are affective characteristics and teaching characteristics. The questionnaire was administered to more than 87 freshmen students studying in the English Department at the College of Languages and Translation in Imam Mohammed Bin Saud University. The results indicated that Saudi teachers have some successful characteristics of good English language teacher. In addition, the results of the study showed that students perceived their teachers to have affective skills more than the teaching skills. This study presented some suggestions to be applied in the English departments to prepare student teachers. Further studies were also suggested to find how teachers perceive themselves.
