المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء على الدور الذي يلعبه كل من الكفاية التواصلية وكف التواصل والاتجاه نحو مهنة التدريس، في التنبؤ باختيار الطلبة المعلمين للمهنة. تركز المقابلات الشخصية التي تعقدها كلية التربية لاتخاذ قرارها حول مدى مناسبة المتقدم لممارسة مهنة التدريس على قياس المهارات التواصلية والاتجاهات نحو المهنة. وقد تم الاعتماد في هذه الدراسة على نتائج قياس كفايات واتجاهات 266 طالبة من السنة الدراسية الأولى في كلية التربية بجامعة الكويت لبناء نتائج الدراسة.
وقد أشارت النتائج إلى أن مستوى الكفاية التواصلية، وكف التواصل لا يتنبأن باختيار الطالب لمهنة التدريس، في حين أن مستوى الاتجاه نحو المهنة يلعب دورا إيجابيا في بناء القرار المهني. وانه على الرغم من أهمية الكفاية التواصلية وكف التواصل للأنشطة والمهن التي تتطلب تواصلا لغويا، فإن نتائج الدراسة أتت خلاف ذلك. وقدمت مقابلة أفراد العينة تفسيرا ملائما لهذه النتيجة، حيث عزوا ذلك إلى أن "القيم الثقافية الاجتماعية نحو عمل المرأة "، و"الخبرات العملية المتراكمة " يلعبان دورا مهما في صياغة القرار المهني على الرغم من ضعف القدرات التواصلية.
وفي ضوء النتائج، وضع الباحث عدة توصيات ومقترحات للقيام بدراسات مستفيضة تسهم في الاختيار المهني الدقيقة للمتقدمين.


The study aimed to shed light on the role played by communication competence, cessation of communication and orientation towards the teaching profession, in predicting the choice of teachers for the profession. The face-to-face interviews held by the College of Education to decide on the suitability of the applicant to practice the teaching profession focus on measuring communicative skills and attitude towards the profession. This study was based on the results of measuring the competencies and patterns of 266 students from the first school year at the Faculty of Education at Kuwait University to build the results of the study.
The results indicated that the level of communication competence and cessation of communication do not mean the choice of the student for the teaching profession, while the level of orientation towards the profession plays a positive role in professional decision-making. Despite the importance of communicative competence and cessation of communication for activities and professions that require linguistic communication, the results of the study came otherwise. The interview with the respondents provided an appropriate explanation for this finding, as they attributed this to the fact that “sociocultural values towards women's work” and “accumulated practical experience” play an important role in shaping professional decision despite weak communication capabilities. In the light of the findings, the researcher made several recommendations and suggestions for conducting extensive studies that contribute to the accurate professional selection of applicants.
