|a هدف البحث إلى الكشف عن الفروق في مشكلات اللغة لدى التلاميذ ذوي متلازمة داون وفقاً لكل من النوع والعمر الزمني والعمر العقلي في دولة الكويت. وقد تكونت عينة البحث من (40) تلميذ (19 ذكر، 21 أنثى) من ذوي متلازمة داون، وتم استخدام اختبار المفردات الاستقبالية والتعبيرية المصورة؛ والذي يتضمن الأسماء، والأفعال، والصفات (إعداد الباحثة). وأظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين أبعاد اللغة والعمر (الزمني-العقلي)؛ فكلما زاد العمر (الزمني-العقلي) زادت المفردات (الاستقبالية-التعبيرية). كما أشارت إلى عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين الذكور والإناث على أبعاد مشكلات اللغة وأن التلاميذ يستخدمون الأفعال أكثر من الأسماء والصفات في الفهم أكثر من التعبير.

|b The purpose of this study was to explore the differences in language among students with Down Syndrome according to gender and chronological and mental age in Kuwait. The study included 40 students (19 males, 21 females) with Down Syndrome. The following tool developed by the researcher was used: Receptive and Expressive Vocabulary Pictures Test. The result showed there was a statistically significant correlation between the receptive and expressive vocabulary of students and their chronological and mental age. There were no statistically significant differences between males and females on each of the dimensions of language problems. In addition, results showed that receptive language was better than expressive language with the more use of verbs form than nouns and adjective in comprehension and production of words.
