|b the subject of self-care to the mentally disabled is an important theme in their daily lives as expressing their independence and social adaptation, disabled children are suffering mentally from deficiencies in various fields and is considered the area of self-care is the most important since any failure in this aspect will affect the rest of the other aspects of a child's life, He loses confidence in itself , recently there is an interest in the field of disability by designing effective programs to train people with intellectual disabilities , the current study is designed to know the degree of self-care skills when the study group, also seeks to know the differences between the sexes (male and female) to acquire these skills.

|a يشكل موضوع العناية بالذات لدى المعاقين ذهنيا موضوعا هاما في حياتهم اليومية باعتباره يعبر عن استقلاليتهم وتكيفهم الاجتماعي، ويعاني الطفل المعاق ذهنيا من القصور في مختلف المجالات ويعتبر مجال العناية بالذات هو الأهم حيث أن أي قصور في هذا الجانب سيؤثر على باقي الجوانب الأخرى في حياة الطفل، حيث يفقد ثقته بذاته، وفي الآونة الأخيرة بدأ اهتمام ذوي الاختصاص في مجال الإعاقة بالبحث في هذا الموضوع وتصميم البرامج الفاعلة لتدريب ذوي الإعاقة الذهنية، وتهدف دراستنا الحالية إلى معرفة درجة مهارات العناية الذاتية عند فئة الدراسة، كما تسعى إلى معرفة الفروق بين الجنسين (ذكور وإناث) في اكتساب هذه المهارات.
