المستخلص: This study aims at presenting the current situation of teaching French language for pupils of earlier ages in private schools in Khartoum, besides the statutes ruling private education and the proportion of the real application of that text. To attain these objectives, we have conducted a field study covering five private schools in Khartoum: Kics School, Unity High School, English Section of the British Educational School, Cambridge Group Schools, Salah Three Languages School. Our statistic data come from field study. It depends on personal counts, together with official information from the concerned schools and their brochures. So we used descriptive and analytical methods: we give a description of the reality, followed by an empiric analysis of our observations. The findings of this study are shown as statistic tables reflecting the current situation of teaching French for pupils of earlier ages in Sudan. We also found that the regulations of the said statutes were not completely applied. Our work did not reach to a very final conclusion, but it opens the way for a major enquiry concerning the possibility of succeeding this private education in the Sudan, and in particular teaching French in earlier ages.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى عرض الوضع الحالي لتدريس اللغة الفرنسية في عمر مبكر في مدارس خاصة بالخرطوم وعرض النص القانوني المسمى اللائحة الأساسية للتعليم الخاص، ودرجة التطبيق الحقيقي لها. ولبلوغ الهدف، أجرينا دراسة ميدانية في خمس مدارس خاصة بمدينة الخرطوم، وهي مدرسة الخرطوم العالمية، ومدرسة الاتحاد العليا، ومدارس التعليم البريطانية، القسم الإنجليزي، ومجموعة مدارس كامبردج، ومدرسة صلاح لثلاث لغات. ونتجت بياناتنا الإحصائية عن هذه الدراسة. ويعتمد العرض الذي نقدمه في هذه الورقة على الإحصاء الشخصي، كما يعتمد على المعلومات الرسمية وكتيبيات تلك المدارس. لذلك نجد أن المنهج المستخدم وصفي وتحليلي: وصف للواقع يليه تحليل تجريبي لملاحظاتنا. وتظهر نتيجة هذه الدراسة في شكل جداول إحصائية تعكس الوضع الحالي لتدريس اللغة الفرنسية في عمر مبكر في السودان. ووجدنا كذلك أن مراعاة تطبيق أحكام النظام الأساسي ليست بالقدر الكافي. وليس عملنا من النوع الذي يتوصل إلى نتائج نهائية، وإنما يفتح الطريق لتساؤل كبير عن إمكانية نجاح التعليم الخاص، وعلى وجه أخص تعليم الفرنسية في عمر مبكر.
