|a هدفت الدراسة للتعرف إلى أثر استراتيجية التساؤل الذاتي في الفهم القرائي، والدافعية نحو القراءة ومفهوم الذات لدى طالبات الصف الثامن الأساسي، واستخدم الباحث المنهج التجريبي، كما اختار عينة عشوائية قدرها (90) طالبة من مجتمع الدراسة البالغ (807) طالبات. وقام الباحث ببناء الأدوات التالية: قائمة مهارات الفهم القرائي؛ واختبار الفهم القرائي، ومقياس الدافعية نحو القراءة، ومقياس مفهوم الذات. وأشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا عند مستوي (=0.01) بين متوسطي درجات طالبات المجموعتين: الضابطة والتجريبية، في التطبيق البعدي لاختبار الفهم القرائي، لصالح المجموعة التجريبي، وكذلك وجود فروق في الدرجة الكلية لمقياس الدافعية نحو القراءة، ومقياس مفهوم الذات لصاح المجموعة التجريبية أيضا.

|b The study aims at identifying the impact of self-questioning strategy on reading comprehension, motivation towards reading, and self – concept among eighth grade female students in Palestine. The researcher uses the experimental method, and selected a random sample of 90 students from the study population totaling (807) students. The researcher designs the following tools: List of Reading Comprehension Skills, Reading Comprehension Test, the scale of motivation towards reading, and the measure of self-concept The study results indicate the presence of statistically significant differences at (α = 0.01) between the mean scores of the students in the control group and the mean scores of their peers in the experimental group in the post application of Reading Comprehension test in favor of the experimental group in addition to the the existence of differences in the total score of the scale of motivation towards reading, and the total score of the measure of self-concept in favor of the experimental group . The researcher recommends the Arabic language teachers to employ the self-questioning strategy when teaching reading and other skills of the Arabic language.
