المستخلص: The relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and economic growth in developing countries has had much interest in the economic literature. It seems that the thesis, according to which the FDIs are one of the main vectors of growth, is acceptable. Internationals firms are the main actors who try to find an alternative to traditional commercial relationship. Internationals organisations (IMF, World Bank….) and as well as several economists recommend that kind of investment. In spite of all the efforts employed by Algerian government, the impact of the FDIs on growth in the country is still very weak. This paper provides an analysis of the effects of the FDIs on the Algerian economic growth using the VAR technique. Theoretically, the relationship does exist but empirical studies have proved the opposite

La relation entre les flux d’IDE et la croissance des pays en développement a reçu une large attention dans la littérature économique récente. Il s’avère cependant que la thèse jusqu’alors largement acceptée, selon laquelle les IDE sont l’un des principaux vecteurs de la croissance. Les Sociétés Transnationales sont les principaux acteurs en cherchant des alternatives aux relations commerciales traditionnelles. Les instances internationales (FMI, Banque Mondiale….etc) ainsi que les académiciens ont sollicité ce type de financement, et ne voient dans ce processus qu’un rôle positif pour la croissance des pays et le transfert de connaissance. Malgré des efforts déployés par L’Algérie depuis l’indépendance pour booster les IDE, leur impact dans le pays reste encore mitigé. Notre étude va permettre de définir la relation IDE-croissance économique en Algérie en utilisant la technique Vecteur Autorégressif (VAR). Sur le plan théorique, la relation (positive) existe mais plusieurs études empiriques ont démontré que cette relation peut être fallacieuse.
