هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة أثر استخدام طريقة التعلم التعاوني في تحصيل طالبات الصف الرابع الأدبي في مادة التاريخ يقتصر البحث على عينة من طالبات الصف الرابع الأدبي للفصل الدراسي الأول للعام الدراسي 2014/ 2015 استخدم الباحثان التصميم التجريبي ذا الضبط الجزئي تصميما للبحث وكان المحتوى يتضمن الفصول الثلاثة من كتاب التاريخ للصف الرابع العام تألف مجتمع البحث من جميع المدارس الاعدادية التي تضم الصف الرابع الأدبي التابعة لمديرية تربية ديالى للبنات وجرى عشوائيا اختيار مدرسة المسرة للبنات، تم اختيار شعبة (أ) لتمثل المجموعة التجريبية بطريقة السحب العشوائي وشعبة (ب) المجموعة الضابطة عدد إفراد عينة البحث للمجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة (72) طالبة بواقع (30) طالبة في المجموعة التجريبية و(32) طالبة في المجموعة الضابطة وقد استبعد الباحثان الطالبات الراسبات بواقع (5) طالبة من المجموعة التجريبية (5) طالبة من المجموعة الضابطة وبذلك أصبح عدد عينة البحث (62) طالبة وقد أبقت الباحثة الطالبات المستبعدات في الصف حفاظا على النظام المدرسي واستبعادهن من النتائج النهائية للاختبار لاعتقاد الباحثة إن لديهن خبرة سابقة عن الموضوعات التي تدرس على مدى وقت التجربة وقد تؤثر هذه الخبرة على دقة نتائج البحث. تم تكافؤ المجموعتين في متغيرات هي (العمر بالأشهر، التحصيل الدراسي السابق في مادة التاريخ) بعد إكمال مستلزمات البحث من حيث المادة العلمية وتحديد الأغراض السلوكية وصياغتها وإعداد الخطط التدريسية أعدت الباحثة أداة البحث (الاختبار التحصيلي) في مادة التاريخ حيث بلغ عدد فقراته (20) فقرة من نوع الاختيار من متعدد واستعمل الباحثان الاختبار التائي (T.test) ومربع كاي ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون. وتوصل الباحثان إلى ما يأتي: توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين درجات المجموعة التجريبية التي درست وفق طريقة التعلم التعاوني ودرجات المجموعة الضابطة التي درست بالطريقة الاعتيادية في الاختبار التحصيلي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية وقد قدمت الباحثة جملة من التوصيات والمقترحات منها استخدام هذه الطريقة في تدريس التاريخ وفتح دورات تدريبية للمدرسين والمدرسات حول كيفية استخدام وتطبيق الطرائق الحديثة في التدريس وإجراء دراسة مقارنة بين طريقة التعلم التعاوني وطرائق تعليمية أخرى.
