المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة دور الجامعة في مواجهة التطرف من خلال التدريس، ومن خلال البحث العلمي، ومن خلال خدمة المجتمع، والبحث عن الحلول المقترحة لتفعيل دورها في مواجهة التطرف، واستخدمت المنهج الوصفي التحليلي القائم على تحليل البيانات التي تم جمعها بواسطة استبانة للإجابة على أسئلة الدراسة من قبل عينة الدراسة والبالغة (246) عضو هيئة تدريس في جامعة الملك سعود.
وتوصلت الدراسة إلى نتائج من أهمها تمثل دور الجامعة لمواجهة التطرف من خلال التدريس في تربية الطالب على احترام الآخرين وأفكارهم، وتنمية العقيدة الإسلامية لديه، واحترام آرائه وأفكاره، وإتاحة الفرص للحوار والمناقشة بين الطلاب، وتمثل دور الجامعة لمواجهة التطرف من خلال البحث العلمي هي توجيه البحث العلمي لمعرفة أسباب التطرف ومواجهته وتوجيهه أيضاً نحو الاعتدال والوسطية في الإسلام، والتسامح والأخلاق السمحة وحل مشكلات المجتمع والاستجابة لمتطلباته، كما تمثل دور الجامعة لمواجهة التطرف من خلال خدمة المجتمع في إعداد البرامج التي تستقطب الطلاب للاستفادة من أوقات الفراغ، وتلبية حاجات المجتمع.
وعلى ضوء نتائج الدراسة أوصت بترسيخ مبادئ وقيم احترام العادات والتقاليد والقواعد والقوانين في نفوس الطلاب، وإيجاد الصلة التربوية بين الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والعمل على إقامة روح الجماعة، وتربية الطلاب على حرية الرأي والاستجابة البناءة في القضايا السياسية والعربية، والاستفادة من طاقات الطلاب في البحث والابتكار ومساعدتهم على ممارسة المشاركة الإيجابية في اتخاذ القرار.


The study aimed to know the role of the university in countering extremism through teaching, through scientific research, through community service. It also aims to look for proposed solutions to activate its role in countering extremism. The study used the descriptive-analytical approach based on the analysis of data collected by a questionnaire to answer the study questions by the study sample consisting of 246 faculty members at King Saud University.
The study reached several results, most notably: The role of the university to counter extremism should happen through teaching student about respecting others and their ideas, developing his Islamic faith, respecting his opinions and ideas, and providing opportunities for dialogue and discussion among students. The role of the university to counter extremism through scientific research is to guide scientific research to find out the causes of extremism and counter them, and also to guide him towards moderation in Islam, tolerance and tolerant morality, solving the problems of society and responding to its requirements. The role of the university to counter extremism should also happen through community service by preparing programs that attract students to benefit from leisure time and meet the needs of the community.
In light of the study results, the study recommended that the principles and values of respect for customs, traditions, rules and laws be established among students. It also recommended finding a link between students and faculty members and working to establish the spirit of the community, educating students on freedom of opinion and constructive response in political and Arab issues. The study further recommended benefiting from students' energies, in research and innovation, and helping them to practice a positive participation in decision-making.
