المستخلص: هدف البحث إلى تعرف واقع تعليم الكبار لدى نزلاء سجن دمشق المركزي من وجهة نظر النزلاء والكشف عن الفروق بين متوسطات إجابات أفراد عينة البحث حول واقع تعليم الكبار وفقا لمتغيرات البحث( الفئة العمرية، الحالة الاجتماعية)، والتعرف على سبل تطوير برامج تعليم الكبار لدى نزلاء سجن دمشق المركزي من وجهة نظر النزلاء، ولحقيق ذلك قام الباحث بتصميم استبانة مكونة من ثلاثة محاور متمثلة بواقع تعليم الكبار وهي (محور توفر مستلزمات الدورة، محور فوائد الدورة، محور الصعوبات التي تواجه الدورة)، بالإضافة إلى سؤال مفتوح للتعرف على سبل تطوير برامج تعليم الكبار لدى نزلاء سجن دمشق المركزي من وجهة نظر النزلاء واعتمد الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتكون مجتمع البحث من جميع النزلاء الملتحقين بدورة تعليم الكبار المقامة داخل سجن دمشق المركزي والبالغ عددهم (70) نزيلا، حيث تم اعتماد المجتمع الأصلي عينة للبحث وتم اختيار (10) نزلاء كعينة استطلاعية وبالتالي أصبحت عينة التطبيق النهائي (60) نزيلا، وجاءت نتائج البحث على الشكل التالي:  جاءت إجابات النزلاء على سؤال البحث الرئيس حول واقع تعليم الكبار لدى نزلاء سجن دمشق المركزي بدرجة مرتفعة.  أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق بين متوسطات إجابات أفراد العينة حول واقع تعليم الكبار لدى نزلاء سجن دمشق المركزي وفقا لمتغير الفئة العمرية) من 20-إلى 40 سنة، أكبر من 40سنة) لصالح النزلاء من 20 إلى 40 سنة.  أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق بين متوسطات إجابات أفراد العينة حول واقع تعليم الكبار لدى نزلاء سجن دمشق المركزي وفقا لمتغير الحالة الاجتماعية (عازب- متزوج) لصالح النزلاء المتزوجين.  جاءت نتائج السؤال المفتوح حول سبل تطوير برامج تعليم الكبار داخل دمشق سجن المركزي كما يلي: زيادة مدة الدورة -زيادة عدد الجلسات الأسبوعية. زيادة عدد المعلمين -توفير وسائل تعليمية حديثة. توفير أنشطة ترفيهية خلال الدورة.

The aim of the research is to know the reality of literacy for inmates in the Damascus Central Prison from the perspective of the inmates and to reveal the differences between the average answers of the members of the research sample about the reality of adult literacy according to research variables (age group, marital status), and to reveal the methods of developing the adult educational programs .To achieve this, the researcher designed a three-pronged questionnaire about the reality of adult education (the focus of the provision of course requirements, the focus of the course benefits, and the focus of the course difficulties) and moreover, an open question to reveal the methods of development of adult educational programs for the inmates in Damascus Central Prison. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach, and the research community of all the inmates enrolled in the adult teaching courses held at the Damascus Central Prison, which number (70) inmates, Where the original community was approved for research sample and (10) inmates were selected as an exploratory sample and therefore the final sample of application (60) inmates, the results of the search came in the following form: The inmate's answers to the main research question about the reality of adult education of inmates in the central Damascus Prison were about to a high degree.  The results show that there are differences between the average answers of the sample members about the reality of the adult education of inmates in the Damascus Central Prison according to the variable age group (from 20 to 40 years-over 40 years) for the benefit of the inmates from 20 to 40 years. The results show that there are differences between the average answers of the sample members about the reality of adult education for inmates in the Damascus Central Prison according to the social status variable (single married) for the benefit of married inmates. The results of the open question about the methods of the development of the adult educational programs in the Damascus Central Prison came as follows: Increase of course duration. Increase of the number of the week sessions. Increase of the number of teachers. Provision of modern educational tools. Provision of pleasure activities during the course.
