This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the cognitive-behavioral counseling program in reducing the level of self- handicapping and improving the quality of life for a sample of university students. The main sample of research consisted of 22 students of Arish University; aged between 19-21 years, this sample was (consisted of) divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The study tools were: self- handicapping scale prepared by Rhodewalt (1990), translated by the researcher, The scale of quality of life by Dalia samy (2014), and a counseling cognitive Behavioral program. The results of the research concluded the effectiveness of the used program in reducing the level of Self-handicapping and improving the quality of life for university students.
