المستخلص: The study attempted to generally describe the trouble spots of some Egyptian EFL freshmen when writing in English. It specifically determined the differences between male and female Egyptian EFL freshmen when writing in English. Two groups of Egyptian freshmen were formed with five students each based on their gender. Participants were asked to write a 100-word paragraph on one of the suggested topics. Frequency analysis, percentage and mean scores were used to compute the errors. The results showed various types of writing errors among the Egyptian EFL freshmen. The female participants had largely less frequency, percentage and mean score of writing errors as compared to their male counterparts
