|b This study aimed at investigating the effect of an educational programme based on cognitive and metacognitive listening operations on the improvement of listening comprehension skills among seventh grade students. The study sample consisted of (120) students chosen randomly and distributed into (2) male and (2) female sections. The sections were divided into an experimental group and a control one. The experimental group consisted of (60) students who were taught using the educational programme based on cognitive and metacognitive listening operations while the control group consisted of (60) students who were taught conventionally. The results showed statistically significant differences related to the educational programme in favor of the experimental group. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the listening comprehension skills related to the Sex in the mean scores of the experimental group and the control one. It was recommended by the researchers to employ the proposed educational programme in teaching listening comprehension.

|a هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى قياس أثر برنامج تعليمي قائم على عمليات الاستماع المعرفية وما وراء المعرفية في تحسين مهارات الاستيعاب الاستماعي لدى طلبة الصف السابع الأساسي، وبلغ عدد أفراد الدراسة (120) طالباً وطالبة، موزعين على أربع شعب صفية، اختيرت منها شعبتان عشوائيا (60) طالبا وطالبة، كمجموعة تجريبية درست باستخدام البرنامج التعليمي القائم على عمليات الاستماع المعرفية وما وراء المعرفية، والشعبتان الأخريان، (60) طالبا وطالبة، كمجموعة ضابطة، درست وفق البرنامج الاعتيادي، وبعد تحليل نتائج اختبار الاستيعاب الاستماعي، بينت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متوسطي أداء مجموعتي الدراسة، التجريبية والضابطة لمصلحة طلبة المجموعة التجريبية، وعدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في مهارات الاستيعاب الاستماعي تعزى إلى الجنس، وقد أوصى الباحثان باعتماد البرنامج التعليمي وتطبيقه في تعليم الاستماع.
